A UKRAINIAN family who fled the war in their homeland have suffered more heartache after their dog was stolen six days after arriving in the UK.
Lina and Oleksiy Litvinova, both 40, their two children, Ivan, 17, nine-month-old Kira plus her mum Larysa, 66, drove over 2,000 miles for three days across 10 countries to escape the Russian onslaught.
They also travelled with their eight-year-old Yorkshire Terrier called Ellie who they’ve had since a pup.
They moved into a temporary home in Streatham, south west London, last Monday (Aug 1) while awaiting a permanent residence.
But the eight-year-old dog was pinched on Sunday (Aug 7) morning and cops are now hunting the callous crooks.
Ellie had managed to run out of the house but Lina claims two people in a red BMW stopped and told passersby they were the owners.
She said they then snatched the dog and drove off with her in broad daylight.
“No arrests, but enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
