Dog was stabbed three times after hero owner refused to let him be stolen

"It was broad daylight, you can’t even walk your dog anymore without having any trouble"

A DOG was stabbed THREE TIMES by violent, would-be pooch-nappers after his hero owner refused to let them steal him.

Luke Baker was walking his partner Clare Durham’s pug called Sid when he was approached by a trio of young thugs.

He picked up the one-year-old pup to protect him but one of the crooks then pulled out a blade.

The thug repeatedly plunged it into the defenceless dog before the three of them fled.

Poor Sid was rushed to the vets and miraculously survived.

Cops are now hunting the three men after the shocking attack in Darenth Country Park, Dartford, Kent.

Shocked Clare said: “Luke was walking my dog when three young boys approached him wanting to take the dog.

“He picked up the dog and one of them pulled out a knife and went to stab him but stabbed my dog instead.

“Not only once but three times.

“Sid nearly died, thankfully it didn’t go into his chest but he is so shaken up by it all.

“It was broad daylight, you can’t even walk your dog anymore without having any trouble.”

Luke, 31, an Uber driver, said: ”It’s certainly not something you expect to happen when out in the park.

“It was horrendous and these guys need to be caught before they kill someone.

“We have to seriously think whether we want to move from here, if people aren’t safe to walk around.”

He needed 10 stitches in his stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Sid was taken back to the vets yesterday/on Monday (Aug 22) because he was having difficulty breathing.

He had to be put on oxygen and was also given antibiotics.
