Britain’s most unwanted cat is marooned in a rescue centre

""We know the right home for her is out there somewhere""

BRITAIN’S most unwanted cat is marooned in a rescue centre – after not a single person offered her a home.

The puss – called Habanero – watches on as other moggies get taken away by their new owners.

She has been left feline-lonely by the rejection from prospective suitors.

Staff at the RSPCA London East branch, in Romford have been left baffled as to why no one wants her.

Habanero got her name for being feisty but friendly but she also has incredibly striking eyes.

A spokesperson for the animal charity said: RSPCA rescuers in London are looking for a special home for a unique rescue cat who hasn’t had a single adoption application.

“The cat care team at RSPCA London East branch have spent several months caring for Habanero – gaining her trust and getting to know her personality.

“They are eager to find a loving home for her, however, little Habanero hasn’t received even one application form expressing an interest in rehoming her.”

Natalie Chopra, from the branch, said: “It’s such a shame that Habanero has been overlooked by potential adopters.

“We have waved off a number of other rescue cats to their forever homes but still this poor girl sits in her cat pod watching and waiting.

“The personality of this special cat is really unique too.

“And knowing how a lot of pet owners dote on their animals, we just can’t understand how she hasn’t been snapped up yet.”

Natalie added: “Habanero has been waiting almost four months in her pen.

“We know the right home for her is out there somewhere.

“So we really would love to hear from adults with a comfy, calm and quiet home who are looking for a lovely companion cat.”
