On tuesday evening they were roasting marshmallows over a roaring campfire just before 10 o’clock.
Sarah said: “I went to take a picture and I saw something move behind Amelie, but I just took the picture anyway.
“I looked at it and I just thought ‘Oh my God, what the hell is that?’
“It looked like there was a man with his hand raised standing behind her.”
Terrified Sarah fired off the snap to Amelie’s dad and a few pals to ask for their opinions on whether the creepy apparition was a genuine spectre – or just a trick of the light.
“They were just all saying ‘Oh my God, yeah it really looks like it,” she said.
Sarah added: “I was trying not to show it but I was quite freaked out.
“I struggled to sleep that night – it was so intense. Every little movement or sound kept me awake.”
But it’s not the first ghostly encounter Sarah’s had.
She said: “I thought I saw things when I used to work at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
“I’ve been doing nighttime observations before and seen the curtains moving – but everyone is in bed, asleep.
“It’s quite common for that sort of thing to happen in hospitals, although it’s not normally a daily occurance.”
And despite the terror, Sarah hasn’t been turned off camping completely – although she’s in no hurry to go back.
She said: “I definitely think it was something standing behind her, because there was a movement that caught my eye.
“It’s a shame because it is a lovely campsite. Although I am quite freaked out now.
“I’m not sure if I would rush back.”
The campsite is in the village Bewdley – which is also home to a “haunted” pub and museum.
